I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, "I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing." But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. Revelation 3:15 17,20

So because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:15

Lukewarm Christians
1. Crave acceptance from people more than acceptance from God.
2. Rarely share their faith in Christ.
3. Rationalize their actions.
4. Think more about life on earth than eternity in heaven.
5. Only turn to God when they need something.
6. They give whenever it's convenient.
7. They are not much different from the rest of the world.

Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts. They have no fear of God to restrain them. In their blind conceit, they cannot see how wicked they really are. Psalm 36: 1-2

The Blessings of the Fear of God

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom...Proverbs 9:10

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, turning a person from the snares of death. Proverbs 14:27

True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life. Proverbs 22:4

The Fear of God

Do not lay a hand on the boy," he said. Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son." Genesis 22:12

The greatest evidence of the fear of God is complete obedience to God.

In what area of your life are you not fearing and not obeying God? What are you going to do about it?

They claim to know God, but by their actions they deny him. They are detestable, disobedient and unfit for doing anything good. Titus 1:16

Some Believe in God....

But don't know him.

Some have an encounter with God, but don't really know him.

We know that we have come to know God if we keep his commnads. Whoever says, "I know him, " but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person. 1 John 2:3-4

"Not everyone who says to me, "Lord, Lord", will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, "Lord, Lord", did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles? Then I will tell them plainly, "I never knew you"... Matthew 7:21-23

And know him, but don't know him well.

Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. But now that you know God - or rather are known by God - how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? Galatians 4:8-9

Know him intimately and serve him wholeheartedly.

You, God are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live and in your name I will lift up my hands. Psalm 63:1-4

Those who know your name trust in you...Psalm 9:10

My Prayer for You

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe....Ephesians 1:17-19

How do you Break a Bad Habit?

Make it difficult to do.

Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers. Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way. Proverbs 4:14-15

Watch for these five major triggers:

Moment

Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm. Proverbs 13:20

Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character. 1 Corinthians 15:33

Much of what you normally do isn't a result of conscious choices but a result of daily routine.

Now Daniel so distinguised himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom. Daniel 6:3

We may enjoy God on the mountaintops, but we get to know him intimately in the valleys.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a plsce of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion. Psalm 84: 5-7

Blessed are those whose strength is in you....Psalm 84:5 - It doesn't say Blessed are they who make it on their own.

Lord, I have heard of your fame: I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.

When You are in the Valley

1. Remember - get in a silent place and let God remind you of how he has moved for you.
"God came from Teman, the Holy One from Moutn Paren. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth. Habakkuk 3:3

His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble....Habakkuk 3: 4-6

2. Embrace God
I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, thought hte olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3: 16-18

The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. Habakkuk 3:19

Three Things to Do When You Are Hurting

1. Listen. "I will stand at my watch an dstation myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he (God) will say to me...Habakkuk2:1

2. Write it Down. "Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets..." Habakkuk 2:2

3. Wait. "For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks fo the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for or it; it will certainly come and will not delay." Habakkuk 2:3

"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time apporaches when the vision will be fulfulled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!" Habakkuk 2:3

God's delays are not God's denials.

If it's not God's time, you can't force it!
When it is God's time, you can't stop it!

See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright - but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. " Habakkuk 2
