"Look! The vigin will conceive a child! She will give birth to a son, and they will call hiim Immanuel, which means God is with us."
Matthew 1:23 NLT
We may enjoy God on the mountaintops, but we get to know him intimately in the valleys.
Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a plsce of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion. Psalm 84: 5-7
Blessed are those whose strength is in you....Psalm 84:5 - It doesn't say Blessed are they who make it on their own.
"What joy for those whose strength comes from the Lord, who have set their minds on a pilgrimage to Jerusalem." Psalm 84:5 NLT
"As they pass therough the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autunm rains also cover it with pools." Psalm 84:6
Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I fell from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Psalm 139: 7-10
"But the Lord is in his holy Temple. Let all the earth be silent before him." Habakkuk 2:20 NLT
A prayer of Habakkuk, the prophet. On shigionoth. Habakkuk 3:1
Shigionoth: Musical direction for a congregation to sing a song with wild, passionate singing and rapid changes of rhythm, high-spirited praise, and vigourous enthusiasm.
Lord, I have heard of your fame: I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord.
Repeat them in our day in our time make them known, in wrath remember mercy. Habakkuk 3:2
When You are in the Valley
1. Remember - get in a silent place and let God remind you of how he has moved for you.
"God came from Teman, the Holy One from Moutn Paren. His glory covered the heavens and his praise filled the earth. Habakkuk 3:3
His splendor was like the sunrise; rays flashed from his hand, where his power was hidden. Plague went before him; pestilence followed his steps. He stood, and shook the earth; he looked, and made the nations tremble....Habakkuk 3: 4-6
2. Embrace God
I heard and my heart pounded, my lips quivered at the sound; decay crept into my bones, and my legs trembled. Yet I will wait patiently for the day of calamity to come on the nation invading us. Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, thought hte olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord. I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3: 16-18
The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. Habakkuk 3:19
1. Listen. "I will stand at my watch an dstation myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he (God) will say to me...Habakkuk2:1
2. Write it Down. "Then the Lord replied: "Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets..." Habakkuk 2:2
3. Wait. "For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks fo the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for or it; it will certainly come and will not delay." Habakkuk 2:3
"But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time apporaches when the vision will be fulfulled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!" Habakkuk 2:3
God's delays are not God's denials.
If it's not God's time, you can't force it!
When it is God's time, you can't stop it!
See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright - but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness. " Habakkuk 2
"But the Lord is in his holy temple." Habakkuk 2:20
