CONTRASTING RESPONSES TO JESUS
1) On one side, a criminal ____________ ____________ at Jesus, ____________ ____________ for not saving himself.
Lk 23:39 One of the criminals who hung there hurled insults at him: “Aren’t you the Christ? Save yourself and us!â€
Mk 10:45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.â€
2) One the other side hung a criminal who ____________ the fact that he ___________ _____ ____ ___________—but Jesus didn’t.
Lk 23:40 But the other criminal rebuked him. “Don’t you fear God,†he said, “since you are under the same sentence? Lk 23:41 We are punished justly, for we are getting what our deeds deserve. But this man has done nothing wrong.
Salvation is to be delivered from the ______________, where we deserve to be ____________.
†Lk 23:42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’†Lk 23:43 Jesus answered him, “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.â€
La 3:21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: La 3:22 Because of the LORD'S great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. La 3:23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
A NEW 24
Col 2:6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, Col 2:7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. Col 2:8 See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. Col 2:9 For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, Col 2:10 and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority.
